During the UEFA Champions League draws this evening, UEFA also gave out the award for UEFA’s best player in Europe. Cristiano Ronaldo of Real Madrid deservedly picked up the award.
Ronaldo who scored a record breaking tally of 17 goals in the UEFA Champions League last season scored another brace in the UEFA super cup to give Real Madrid the trophy. Ronaldo was also phenomenal for Real Madrid in the league finishing as top scorer for the club. He warded off competition from other top European players to pick up the coveted award.
Ronaldo had an excellent 2013/2014 season and thanked his teammates as he received his award.
Real Madrid who were drawn in the same group with Liverpool would be looking for the same type of performances this season.
